Welcome Willow!! Hey All, Sorry if this ends up short...typing with a puppy on your lap can be difficult. The mini-Dauchshund I missed out on ended up being returned after a long night of conflict with another dog, think it was a bulldog. Anyway, she didn't fit in because she was so small and passive, so she got returned. I got the call Monday night to see if I still wanted her. As she was half what the other breeders were asking for, and I thought I already knew her, I agreed. I went out, bought the requiste doggy stuff, and picked her up soon after. Well, she does have a few problems, but other than that she's wonderful. She loves her mommy, a little too much right now, but I'm working on teaching her to relax when mom's not around. I had to leave her in the house for 3 hours yesterday in the living room (fenced part of it off) and I assume she wailed her brains out like the night before when I tried to put her to bed there. When I got back though, it took a while for her to come out of the crate and trust me again, but she's much less whiny about me leaving the room. Bedtime sucked a bit last night, she did howl for awhile as I spoiled her by letting her sleep for some period of time in both beds, but after about 10-15 she gave up and quieted down. Either that or mommy fell asleep and didn't worry anymore. The only other major problem she has is potty training. She's been really good at Dan's, and only missed once, due to excitement upon seeing mommy this morning. She's done worse at home though, which I attribute to the white carpeting. Dan has grey carpet, so she can probably tell which are her mats more here than at home. She's been really good about the solid stuff though, no accidents there, though she's really not keen about going outside to go in the cold. If I can get her trained to these puppy mats though, I'll be happy. They're somewhat expensive, but it's better than the carpet. TGI pet stain carpet cleaner. Other than the new puppy, Willow, not much has been going on. I've got some bookings for the week, so I'm happy, but a few have cancelled. That's okay. I just want enough for groceries this week.
