T-Day T-Day was all right, but a little bizzare. When we finally found a local resteraunt that was open for breakfast, I ran into my old friend Mary there. We exchanged numbers and I believe we'll have breakfast sometime next week. I thought it was funny though because she looks really different, but she recognized me. For the first moment, I thought she was a swinger I didn't remember, but she knew my real name. So, it took me a moment to remember who she was. I couldn't stop giggling about it though, because it was so bizzare. I guess she still test drives for Ford though. Yay proving grounds! We visited my dad and my best friend from 4th grade's family for about an hour after that. We had to leave early to make Dan's family thing, which I tried to explain upfront, but I guess I didn't. They were sad to see us go so quickly, but I was happy. The football was boring (stupid Lions yet again) and part of me was concerned that now that I've outed myself to Sarah she might have told her mother and T-Day would turn into a intervention for yours truly. I didn't need that. It was fun enough listening to Dan's family argue over the phone. After we left, we went out to the far east side of Detroit and ate with his folks. The food was good, though they picked on me for my health conscious need for 2% milk as they only drink whole milk (gross! 2% is fatty for me!). They were okay though, for transplanted relatives, and the outlay of various pies for dessert was great. Other than that, I've just been lying around. I decided to waste some money and buy a pair of tall Uggs over eBay. They're costing me 214.50, but that's low for boots. I've also decided to rationalize this purchase by noting that they'll last me at least three years and they're superwarm, which helps in Michigan when I'm digging out my car like yesterday. Damn snow. Hmmm to shop or save today.... Daphne |
