Two Neurotics in a Ion Okay, I think I'm going to try for that developmental sales job. After yesterday's ride along, I've lost the mystery behind selling. Now, it seems rather doable. I just got to go after anything and everything in my territory. Get the useful contacts going, and everything is a prospect unless its sold. Keeping up with dead stuff takes time, but in Larry's case it seems to pay off. So, I can do that too. I just need the product knowledge /entemology to back it up. Then I'll have more confidence about what I'm seeing. I spent most of the day just observing and I learned a few tips, but more product knowledge would really help. I still got to meet with my boss about this today. I feel like I can do it though. Just got to get enough coffee in me to sober up before heading in there. On a lighter note, I did get a nice tour of Belle Isle and downtown yesterday too. I've never been to the former, so it was really cool to check it out. Lol, Larry should be a tour guide or I need to learn more of the basics of Detroit because I got to see a lot of stuff I've never heard about. That was rather nice too. The only downer to the day was working the last 1.5 hours on the phones. They didn't ring much, but I just wanted to head home. Larry also mentioned that reps usually end up specializing in certain types of properties. I think I'm going to pursue churches and adult entertainment venues. I don't know if the latter will take me seriously or not, but I do have the cajones to approach them. As for churches, I think I can pull that off too. Both have a good deal of money and probably few people approaching them so it might be an untapped market. I think I'll keep that under my hat for right now. No sense letting him know all my ideas.
