Too Much Babbling Today Well, as one coworker is running late, I'll update a little. I got outed as bi and a swinger at work among the lower staff. Not a huge issue it seems, though I'm prepared to defend myself if anyone uses it as a reason not to promote me. Nobody seems to care though, and that's good. I'm happy to see that my work speaks louder than my eccentricities. I have been called on a possible attitude issue this past week, however. I assured them I don't have a problem with our associates at one of the branch offices. They're nice people. I just don't get the feeling they're listening to me sometimes, and that's annoying. My direct boss agreed with me, though I was informed not to call them on their inability to pretend they're taking a message. So, I'll just let things ride, and I did apologize that I was just being stressed and crabby. You can check out the remainder of my fever blister for proof of the stress. Speaking of which, my equals don't like me. I know that's normal, but I'm trying not to let it get to me. Part of it is my fault. I do perfer one over the other, and I've screwed stuff up with her by having to fink on her. I really didn't want to do it, but I didn't want to take part in selling something that shouldn't have gone through us. (For the record, she took a few sales from people who paid for their lot and their neighbor's lot together *though you can never tell if the neighbor agreed to the service, which means we can become liable under chemical tresspass if done without their consent.*. The one in particular I turned in treated me horribly, and I was trying to get someone to get back with him about setting it up properly. Of course, with her, he was willing to give his credit info, no problems. My beef with the matter rested on the fact that his neighbor didn't have an account with us, thus might not even know who or what we are doing. He claimed they shared lawncare expenses, but that's not enough for me for a voice over the phone. I told him to have his neighbor call us back and reference him to have them treated together, but he wouldn't listen to me.) Anyway, long story short, I brought it to my bigger boss, asking what the real policy on this was because dealing with shit like that was bugging me. I don't know what has happened to that order since, but at least he sees I'm catching major mistakes. Hopefully, that's a good thing. In personal news, well, there's not much of that. Dan is taking his drugs (I hope) and we're waiting for his oral infection to subside before pulling the tooth. Then we've got another week or two before we can play again (I'm sure the week he's ready to play, I'll have my period.). Hopefully, we'll find someone to do or somewhere to go by then, as I'm getting bored working on my projects with no play. I'll admit Dan's dream of the boat is nice, but I don't see the point of it, though I am fronting the cash. Okay, I can see a point to it. It will be nice to get out of the roasting metal can when its hot and read paperbacks on the little speedboat, just the two of us. Given that, it might be a nice investment, though I get the feeling he'll end up spending more time on it with the guys than anything else. (Can't take the laptop that close to water and a puppy.) Working in shifts isn't too bad. I've been getting something done towards the subscription project. I need to proof my last column (Laura never did) and choose which ones to use as a portfolio. After that, I'll need to get my gusto going and start writing those query letters. I HATE constructing them and facing rejection, but I got to do it or I won't move forward. Its dull work and I'm a little afraid that I can't get my last column to match the good work Laura does with her editing, but I'll try. I know it needs to be up to par, even if local editors change things around. I'll be happy to just be in print. Too much rambling for very little going on. I'll try to get something more sexual or just generally interesting. Did give Dan a nice hummer yesterday morning, just need more like that. Daphne |
