Hired! Well, good news, I actually wowed them like I thought I did! So, I've got a real job! They said they drug tested, so I'm processing 500-1000mg of niacin a day along with a couple of liters of water. Turning myself into a urine processing system, really. Hopefully, they won't do it, but I'll take the detox stuff Monday just in case. I think if they are going to do it, they'd do it my first day, not midway through the week. I'm going to stay clean for the first three weeks or so, not a good idea to ask about random testing during the interview, and that should determine whether I'll be able to stay there or not. I hope it works out, as it seems like doable work for decent pay. My neighbor, Rico, is willing to watch Willow during the day. I'm willing to pay him $50 a week for this as that's $25 less than the sitter in Howell and I won't have to make that drive during the day. So, fewer problems. It's going to suck leaving her for an entire day, that and figuring out how to work for an entire day, but I'd rather have some job security and something to stick on my resume. All I've got to do now is buy some office blouses today at the mall, and get the wheels changed on the Jag sometime tomorrow. (I missed UPS yesterday so I'm writing them a note to leave the rims with Rico.) My clients and the couples who claim they're ready to play keep flaking on me this week, which sucks, but I'll survive. I'm happy enough to know that I can be hired, as I was having my doubts. The ironic thing is that I'll be working for a pest control company in an industrial park. It looks a lot like Dan's shop, though I'm working in the front office. Yeah, Ms. Organic Diet is going to be booking appointments for sprayers, how environmentally safe is that? Oh well, at least I'll be making $9 an hour with a $.50 bonus per hour worked if they let me go at the end of the season. Hopefully, I'll learn to supress most of my personality and become well liked for my abilities so they'll stick me in order taking for the whole year. Much as I'd like to go to grad school, I got another bill for one of my loans, which reminded me of how much debt I'm really in. Another year out here won't kill me, and might alleviate all of it if I just have patience. God I hate having patience. Well, wish me luck Monday! Daphne |
