Pet Crazy Morning, sorry I haven't kept up but the paper journal is suffering too. I can hardly wait to go home today, but I promised Dan I'd stay here so we can change cars for the afternoon. I'll miss listening to Timequake, but he's probably right that the exhaust does need looking at. Something is wrong with the muffler. Over the weekend it started getting a little loud. If it's nothing, I don't mind driving on it (minus the why me weeping), but he wants to take this vehicle to Wisconsin this weekend so we need to check it out. Oh well, hopefully it's a small thing that needs to be adjusted, and I can use the truck today to visit the Salvation Army, assuming they're open and I have money. Speaking of which, I need some clients! I'm horny stop by! It will be for a good cause, I swear! Expense money for gas and lodgings in Wisconsin and, if I make enough, a puppy!!! Yeah, Dan and I keep going back and forth about getting a pet. I really want one :D and we've agreed to either a bird (Macaw or African grey) or a small dog (Daschund prefferred, Beagle possible). As I have no experience with birds (like at all) and little desire to commit to a "permenent two year old" I'm not dancing over the Macaw idea. They might be cool, I'm not knocking them, but they're a) a little more expensive than buying a Daschund with a pedigree and b) can require huge amounts of attention. African greys sound a little more laid-back and I could deal with a bird that talks to me. They're sneakier, but I like animals that think (generally I'm a cat person but that's not a option right now). As for the dogs, they're in the order we both perfer. Beagles are just cheaper and pretty cute too so I'm okay if that's all I can afford. Personally, I want a Daschund though. They're so cute! I perfer the black and tans, but we found a litter in Maybee, MI that is dappled and Dan thinks they're really cool because they're non-traditional colors. That works for me, though I don't understand the whole pedegree/breeding thing. Personally, I just want a pet and I'm used to fixing animals (not personally, unless you count goats). You don't want to raise a litter, you get them fixed! With cats it really mellows out the males in particular, but Dan doesn't want to fix the potential dog. I can understand that a little more now, he wants opportunities to stud (he perfers boys), but I guess Barker's propaganda has gotten to me. It's hard to imagine a non-fixed pet for me, but we'll see how it goes. If he ends up peeing on everything, then it's off with the stepkids. As for pedigree, I don't care. I'm a mutt person, so long as the mutt is well behaved. In fact, this is the first time I've actually almost committed to buying an actual breed! We got most of our animals at the shelter growing up, but as this is my first very own dog I think I can spare the expense. We'll see. Depends on how business works out. wish me luck in Wisconsin!
