Casino Cherry Good Morning all, I plan to try and keep this thing up to date but as i am up north in Gaylord, I might not stand as much of a chance. I like it up here though. The only main problems I have had are a) the slow ass dialup service and b) the cold. I slept downstairs on the air matress fully clothed wearing Gap fleecy pants and a sweater to survive. Mom said the heat would stay at the same level but it didn't...grr. I am having a good time with my family though. I met Jewboy's family as well and they are super lovely. Fully functional and all that. I like the one I got though and last night was really cool. My mom got my sister to sleep over somewhere, even though it meant breaking grounding, and she took me to my first casino. I wasn't sure that I wanted her to, she already bought me pants earlier in the day and she is going to spring for the blonde hair and some tanning for xmas, but she wanted to have some fun with me. We took her boyfriend Mike and he played table games while we worked the slots. I suck at slots. that's what i learned. My happy moment came with the Jeopardy machine and the Plinko machine where I won a whole $20, but that was about the only time my winnings actually meant something. Other than that, I lost everything. Glad I wasn't playing with my own money. Unlucky evening. We all got lost driving home from the Petosky casino because they detoured us from M-33 and it took a while to get back on the road. I got ancy but it was all okay in the end. Mom went to bed when we got home but I had a nice time staying up and talking with her boyfriend Mike. Mom was really fun yesterday though and I learned more about her relationship with my father. Somehow I wonder how I was even born. She told me the story of the death that happened while cutting down one of our trees, which my dad told me was a suicide. She also told me about the first date with my father and how he dropped a handgun that he didn't want her to see, but she had to pick up. Umm...why did you keep dating him? Guess I am a lucky girl. We also discussed my dad's obsession with the aliens and how poorly he treated my mother, he locked his tools away from her so she wouldn't do home repairs! and I guess I am glad that he at least attempted to treat me a bit more equally, but then again I was his kid. Mike and I had a nice time talking too, and I really like him. I am glad that mom has found someone good and stable. He doesn't believe in marriage either and he's kind of looks like an older version of spk. He's older than mom and stable and also sells real estate, he's convinced me to buy a home instead of renting whereever I move to, and he's an intellectual. I told him that I was glad to have someone to talk to that was interested in similar subjects that I was, he's big into history, and that actually read. For most of my life, I have been the only family intellectual here and it gets boring. He sympathized and we spent a few good late hours talking about my sister, who has two D-s but isn't being punished enough we think, my mother, the family, and my thesis. I am not too sure what he thinks of me as of yet, but he told me that my mother does think the world of me and she only forgets to call because she is busy. So in all I do feel a part of this family and I am glad to be here. I will be glad also to see Spk's truck on the 27th though. the dialup is very annoying. Will try and write tomorrow! Daphne |
